Can we give regular human foods for dogs?

It is important to take care of the dog’s diet because a single mistake in its diet can cause serious problems. So, be cautious always in their diet. Well, the question is can we give regular human foods for dogs? Most human foods are very dangerous to them. You should know which foods are good and which are not.

Some pet owners will strictly prohibit giving the human food while some are lenient in that. Someway your dog is supposed to eat human foods. So it is necessary for all pet owners to know thoroughly about the human foods to dog.

First we can see which human food is not suited for dog?

Coffee, Tea and any caffeine products like Chocolate, contains theobromine and caffeine which is toxin to the dogs. It cause vomiting, abdominal pain, dehydration, quick breathing and even severe problem when it consume any dark chocolate.

Onion and garlic, in any form can lead to anemia and breathing problems in the dog.

Grapes and raisins which are good to humans is very bad toxic to the dogs because it causes kidney failure and even death if consumed a lot.

Seeds and core of fruits like apple, plums, pears, apricots which contains very toxic substance.

Raw Yeast is also toxic to them which cause stomach upset, Vomiting etc.

Some Fatty foods like cheese, other dairy products, nuts, raw egg, raw fish or meat is not encouraged to their diet. Egg, Fish and meat should be properly boiled before giving them. Dog doesn’t have the necessary enzymes to digest them and may cause very serious problems when consumed regularly.

If a pinch of alcohol is consumed it will make a huge reaction in the dogs.

Be cautious is your food salt less and any artificial coloring or sweeteners are added to them because it is most dangerous to them.

Most appropriate and healthy human foods for dogs are

  • Eggs, Meat, Fish which are thoroughly boiled gives a healthy diet to them
  • Vegetables such as Carrot, Green beans, Pumpkin, Sweet Potatoes, Boiled potatoes, Tomatoes, Peas, Broccoli and cauliflower are good for them. It should be given in small pieces.
  • Fruits like apple, pear, and plums without the seeds and core are good.
  • Yogurt, peanut butter, cheese with low fat without artificial sugars and no salts is a better diet.
  • The food which is good in fiber like Oatmeal is good health diet.

Although some of the people’s food is good for dog. It may or may not have all the nutrient values that are needed to your doggies. Mostly it is preferred to offer them dog food that are available in pet store which has all the nutrient content that are needed for healthiest growing.
